PRF Membranes

Membranes de PRF

What is PRF?

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is an autogenous platelet concentrate used to stimulate bone formation and promote healing.
It is rich in fibrin, growth factors, leukocytes and glycoproteins.

How are PRF membranes produced?

Venous blood from the patient is collected and put into tubes without anticoagulant.

These tubes are passed through a centrifuge to obtain a FRP gel.

This gel is pressed between two sterile compresses to obtain a FRP membrane.

The FRP membrane is used alone or mixed with autogenous bone or substitute material.

Membranes de PRF

What are the indications for PRF membranes?

  • Insufficient peri-implant bone tissue
  • Accelerated soft tissue healing
  • Sealing of a sinus mucosal perforation
  • Closure of an oral-sinusal communication
  • Combined with autogenous graft or bone substitute material when performing
    • appositional bone grafting
    • post-extraction alveolar development
    • a sinus lift

What are the benefits of PRF?

  • No transmission of disease or rejection reactions
  • Simple preparation technique
  • Improves healing
  • Promotes bone regeneration
